Once we receive your drive we start off by doing a thorough evaluation to determine what steps are necessary to perform a successful recovery. When you call, you will generally receive a price quote for non-invasive and invasive recovery procedures. These prices are usually dramatically different, and until we are able to evaluate your drive, it will be impossible to give you an exact price over the phone. We try our best to diagnose the problem over the phone and give our best guess as to what the potential recovery costs may be. If we feel that your description indicates a physical failure of the hard drive, then we will tell you so up front. We never intentionally "low ball" the price just to get jobs in, only to hold your data hostage at a much higher price. To further protect you against any pricing problems, once the evaluation is complete you will have a price "set in stone" for the recovery. After the evaluation is complete, if you decide not to proceed with the recovery, you simply pay for the evaluation and shipping and we return the drive back to you.
